How we work
“British bespoke, hand cut, fitted, and tailored just for you”
SHT brings together an incredible range of British cloths, in designs, weights and colours galore, to tailor amazing garments for everyone.
Our experienced tailors, based in Leeds, allow us to offer you a Savile Row quality suit which won’t break the bank. And as our garments do not travel half way round the world, we manage remain as sustainable as possible.
On your initial consultation you will chat with Susannah about your requirements and she will then help advise and select cloths that are relevant to your tailoring needs.
Once you have selected your cloth and lining it is time to talk style. Susannah is here to listen but will also discuss ideas, and sketch garments with details in order to get the very best from your bespoke.
Everything is taken into consideration, not only the design and the specific details, but also any physical characteristics e.g. a drop shoulder.
Susannah will then get the measure of you, making sure we have every specification needed to get your suit underway. All this information is passed to our tailor who then sets the wheels in motion. The build begins!
The fabric is marked up and cut by hand. The suit is also basted by hand to a fitting stage ready for your half made try on. Exciting!
Susannah carries out the fittings at the studio making sure the garments are pinned and marked up for the best fit possible. This also indicates to the tailors any changes that need to be made to the initial pattern.
One fitting is usually enough to ensure a really super fit, however a second can be carried out if required.
This is then returned to our tailors who rip it down to incorporate any changes made at the fitting stage.
A few weeks later we will have your fabulous bespoke garment, complete with hand finished details.
British bespoke at its best!
