About Us
“A woman in a man’s world”
Bespoke tailoring has been a part of my life for over 30 years and am proud to say I am one of the first women to be involved in what was seen to be a rather male dominated trade. Beginning my journey I worked for 6 years with a tailor based in South London, visiting men in the City and West End, it was quite an adventure! I decided to set up my own company in 1996, initially based in a Whitechapel office space, which was dull but practical, not very exciting for clients. So in 2002 I moved the operation to a premises on the Clerkenwell Road referred to as my ‘Aladdin’s cave’.
In September 2024 I moved from my home of 22 years to a smaller fabulous studio, and as the Lady Tailor of Clerkenwell I continue to fly the flag from my new location.
I have always used British makers for bespoke tailoring and shirt making, something that many of my competitors haven't been able to do. I also offer wonderful accessories, from UK suppliers of course, and introduced my own designs for a collection of silk ties which continues to be a big hit!
This is a very exciting time for me, introducing clients to my new ‘atelier’ type studio and having more time to develop ideas and designs for all my amazing clients, both old and new!
