“A woman in a man’s world”
I have been involved with bespoke tailoring for 26 years. Beginning my journey working for 6 years with a tailor based in South London, visiting men in the City and West End, and then deciding to set up my own company in 1996. Initially based in Whitechapel the practical but dull ‘office space’ was not conducive to clients visiting, so in 2002 I moved the operation to what is now known as my ‘Aladdin’s cave’ of a shop in Clerkenwell.
Susannah Hall Tailors was set up, and has continued to grow using only UK makers for bespoke tailoring and shirt making, something that many of my competitors haven't been able to do. I've always had the strong belief that we should support British makers.
As my popularity as the ‘Lady Tailor of Clerkenwell’ grew, I decided not only to use my regular suppliers, but to include new and exciting UK designers in order to offer a wonderful variety of ties and accessories.
